Frequently Asked Questions about our Vet Hospital
Yes, we highly encourage you to schedule an appointment prior to coming, unless it is an emergency situation, which take priority. By scheduling an appointment this allows us enough time for all of our patients and scheduled surgical procedures and also guarantees yourself minimal waiting times.
Most of our appointments are scheduled for a ½ hour. There are times when only 15 minutes are needed or when your appointment may go a little longer depending on what your pet needs, but we try our hardest to get you and your pet in and out and happy within that ½ hour.
Yes, but we understand it is not always possible. We prefer you to phone us, so we can provide first aid advice and explain what may happen during your journey. Staff can also prepare equipment and services to ensure your animal is able to obtain prompt emergency care when it arrives.
We make every effort to accommodate our client’s requests. However, there may be circumstances that prevent a certain veterinary team member from being available during your pet’s visit. Scheduling conflicts, emergency situations, and vacation schedules all play a role in their availability. Please feel free to ask for a specific veterinarian or veterinary technician when you schedule your appointment, and we will do what we can to facilitate your request. However, please be understanding if we can’t. All of our team members are highly skilled professionals who look forward to your pet’s visit.

Not only is it unethical and illegal to prescribe for an animal that hasn’t been physically examined by a veterinarian, it is also impossible to come up with an accurate diagnosis and rational plan of treatment. A veterinarian can’t make a diagnoses based on symptoms only as observed by an owner. The outward signs may be an indication of any number of internal causes with a wide variety of clinical treatments. A complete physical examination and other diagnostic tests are required to determine the cause of the symptoms and best course of treatment.
Fees are set by each individual veterinary practice and each has different expenses that are covered by the fees charged (i.e., salaries, rent, utilities). Often, the different fees do not reflect the same set of services, although there may be certain basic procedures in common. Each veterinarian sets the fees for services based on varying criteria, such as different drugs, anesthetics, antibiotics, medical techniques and products, which may have a bearing on the cost of the services.
Our vets have experience treating small animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, small pocket pets), large animals (bovine, small ruminants, equine and swine) and birds (parrots, poultry). We do not offer services for reptiles or fish at this time.
